Carlos Cruz-Diez featuring in "The Illusive Eye: Op Art and the Americas in the 1960s" at El Museo del Barrio, New York from February 3 to May 21, 2016
Curated by Jorge Daniel Veneciano, “The Illusive Eye” offers a broad intellectual context for Op art, Geometric Abstraction, and Kinetic art. The exhibition celebrates and revisits the MoMA's 1965 “The Responsive Eye” from a Latin American perspective.
The exhibition proposes thus a special focus on artworks from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Uruguay alongside artists’ artworks from Europe and the US originally presented in the exhibition 50 years ago.
